StartinUP is Uttar Pradesh’s official program to help local startups with workspace, mentoring, small grants, training and investor connections. If your startup is based in UP and meets the basic startup definition, you can apply through listed incubators or the StartinUP portal.

StartinUP builds a local startup ecosystem by setting up incubators and Centres of Excellence (CoEs), running training and demo events, and giving small seed support or incentives to promising startups. It works with incubators that select and mentor startups, then provide the support or funds.

  • Startups incorporated or operating in Uttar Pradesh are the main target. The program follows the Government of India startup definition (usually up to 10 years from incorporation for companies/LLPs/partnerships).
  • Some calls may ask for DPIIT recognition or other specific conditions (sector, stage), so check each program’s rules.
  • Workspace and mentoring at incubators and CoEs.
  • Small seed grants or incentives through state calls and schemes.
  • Training, labs and technical help from Centres of Excellence.
  • Investor connects and market access via demo days and government procurement links.
  • Company papers: Certificate of Incorporation, PAN, GST (if applicable).
  • Founders’ KYC: Aadhaar, PAN, CVs.
  • Project materials: short pitch deck (5–10 slides), project plan, budget, milestones, bank statements, IP docs (if any).
  • If a call requires it, DPIIT recognition or a self‑declaration as a startup may be needed.
  1. Visit the StartinUP portal or the listed incubator’s page to find open calls or programs.
  2. Pick an incubator or CoE that fits your sector or location.
  3. Prepare a short pitch deck: problem, solution, team, what you need, and 2–3 clear milestones.
  4. Submit the application to the incubator or via the portal as instructed.
  5. If selected, the incubator will mentor you and release support when you meet milestones.
  • Are you based in UP and incorporated? If yes, you’re likely eligible.
  • Do you have a clear milestone (prototype, pilot, first customers) that funding will achieve?
  • Do you want workspace/mentors or just funding? Choose incubators that match your main need.
  • Only apply through official incubators or the StartinUP portal; avoid intermediaries asking for fees.
  • Be realistic with milestones—incubators fund specific outcomes, not open‑ended expenses.
  • Check each call’s fine print: some benefits depend on budget cycles and specific eligibility rules.
